Texas State Massage Therapist Practice Exam 2026 – The All-in-One Guide to Master Your Certification!

In Texas, the responsibility for paying all fees associated with the fingerprinting vendor falls on the applicant. This means that individuals seeking to obtain or renew their massage therapy license must cover the costs incurred during the fingerprinting process. This policy ensures that the applicant is accountable for their own background check, which is a crucial step in maintaining the integrity and safety of the profession.

The other stakeholders mentioned in the options, such as establishment owners, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and massage schools, do not bear this financial responsibility. The establishment owner may be involved in the hiring process but is not responsible for the applicant's fees. The Texas Department of Public Safety manages the overall process, including the background checks, but does not pay for the fingerprinting itself. Similarly, while massage schools may assist students in understanding licensing requirements, they are not liable for the associated costs. This underscores the importance of applicants preparing in advance for the financial aspects of the licensing process.
